District 7 Race: Clifford Gilmore vs Larry Reid
This is East Oakland we're talking about here. The place in the 1980s where a top drug dealer had a Rolls Royce and Horse-drawn coffin funeral procession and all the kids ever since are crazy about it.
So we have Larry "things have improved" Reid vs newcomer Clifford Gilmore. Can someone tell us if Clifford is related to City Councilman at the time Carter Gilmore, in the above video clip?
Here's the SF Chronicle's article about the two candidates.

Who would you choose?

Who should replace "MIA" Mayor Dellums?
Or is Ron really MIA?
Chime in today!
Our money is on DLF.
Say NO to the Democrat Machine (Perata) which has sewn up Oakland for far too long...
As Obama sez, time for Change.

Mario Juarez: 100% Crook?
Get the story HERE in multiple pages. At least some of this looks fact-based, and although about Juarez's personal life, does seem to provide an indication of how his tenure might look.
As noted at A Better Oakland, someone (De La Fuente? residents?) doesn't want Mario Juarez to become city councilman.
